Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Designer to join our innovative Mechanical Engineering team reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager. As a Mechanical Designer at ForceN, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of state-of-the-art robotic sensing systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, as well as high profile customers to bring to life the future of robotics sensing solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the customers and engineering team to brainstorm and generate innovative design concepts for robotic sensing systems
  • Lead the prototyping efforts, working hands-on to build and test mechanical components and systems
  • Conduct structural and thermal analyses to validate designs and identify opportunities for optimization
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with hardware and electrical components, ensuring optimal system packaging
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners and provide support throughout the production process to ensure high-quality, on-schedule and cost-effective manufacturing
  • Create comprehensive design documentation, including BOMs, assembly instructions, and design specifications
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to bring fresh ideas and innovations to the design process

Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, mechatronic engineering or related field. Advanced degree is a plus
  • 1 - 5 years in mechanical design, preferably in the robotics or automation industry
  • Experience with ISO 9001 / 13485 preferred
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (OnShape)
  • Proficiency in CAE software (Ansys, SimScale)
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for assembly
  • Proven experience in prototyping and testing of mechanical systems
  • Demonstrated experience in hardware product management, involved in the concept, detailed design and bringing an idea to production.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving
  • Strong communication skills - able to present to customers and high level executives
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with robotics, sensors, instrumentation signal processing and/or sensing systems

Compensation

$85,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
